This was a card a did for a class a few months ago. I cased the inspiration from the matchbox card we were shown how to do at last years Regionals for Stampin’ Up! (another perk for being a demonstrator- being given ideas and tutorials).

I just love Raspberry tart DSP. Here I have teamed it up with Very Vanilla and Rose Red cardstock and Kiwi Kiss ink. Stampin’ Up! colours are great because you can mix and match with what you have and it will blend with more than one colour. I have used Old Olive ribbon and it looks right at home.

Crimped Crickets

This is a card I made for my nephew who turned 12. I must admit, I had a hard time making it feel age appropriate. (Or is that just me because I have a hard time making male cards?)

Anyway, the In Colours certainly helped overcome that. This is the first time I have used my Crimper. Using it for a male card almost gives it a “corrugated iron” feel. Just remember to stamp your image before you put the card stock thru the crimper. I also cut out and layered parts of the cricket.

Some time ago a friend of ours had a baby daughter. I had seen these cards before and wanted to give them a try.

It is a little bit fussy, but looks excellent as a finished card. I liked it so much I made quite a few more in a variety of colours and the girls at work bought them from me. It is easy to mix and match colours for both boys, girls and neutral colour tones.

Spring Mini Catalogue

AUNZSpringMini09August 1st marks the release date for the Spring mini catalogue.

It will be current until 30th November 2009.

There are some fabulous stamps, including for the first time, single stamp sets (although, technically it is not a set if it is only one).

If you are anything like me and love all things “scallop” then you will be pleased to see a new oval scallop punch. It co-ordinates wonderfully well with the other oval punches as well as specific stamp sets in the catalogue.

Stampin’ Up! must be taking notice of what their demonstrators and customers have been talking about, because there is White Stazon ink as well as the Stazon cleaner.

I could go on and on about what is in the catalogue, but the best way is to have a look for yourself. The most satisfying way is to book a workshop and I can demonstrate some of the products and you can have a play for yourself. If that is not possible, then check out the website and call me to place your order.

Take home Party bags

I have been so slack, and haven’t posted anything for weeks. I’ll have to blame work commitments for this. I should have included this in the last post as this again relates to my daughters birthday. No party can be complete without party bags.

Some time ago, we were given a “Make it Monday” challenge by the talented Makeesha as part of our Yahoo group. Another one of the many talented ladies Nicki, told us that she had created multiple bags for her daughters birthday party. And so the inspiration seed was planted, I was also going to do the same for my daughter.

Here is my attempt at these wonderfully cute handbags. I have also created a external cover for a notepad using co-ordinating DSP and an insert for a pen, to make the set complete. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of all 10 of the bags I created, before we gave them away.
